Does a labour welfare fund contribution apply here?
Only some states run a labour welfare fund, and where one exists both the employee and the employer contribute small fixed amounts set by the state. Collection is monthly in some states, half yearly or annual in others, and the coverage threshold is set by the state Act.
For a single state employer it is a minor task once or twice a year. For a company with offices in several states it gets fiddly, because the amount, the frequency and whether the fund exists at all change at the border.
