Women's panel orders TCS to tighten POSH compliance across all units

The National Commission for Women has directed Tata Consultancy Services to strengthen its prevention of sexual harassment compliance across all 127 units. The direction came after a hearing on 21 May, chaired by NCW chairperson Vijaya Rahatkar, that followed a case at the company's Nashik unit. It calls for stronger safeguards, working Internal Committees and employee training. The read for smaller firms is plain. Any workplace with 10 or more staff carries the same Internal Committee duty, and regulatory attention on it is rising.

India SME Forum asks labour ministry to fix wage calculation confusion

The India SME Forum has asked the labour ministry to reconsider its 16 March FAQs on the labour codes, saying they muddle how wages are calculated. The forum argues that provident fund and pension contributions, which go to statutory funds rather than to employees, should sit outside the 50 percent wage threshold, and it flags that ESI is treated differently from PF. It also wants overtime and statutory bonus kept out, and seeks a blanket exemption for firms under about 10 crore turnover and 100 workers.

MSME ministry's TEAM scheme helps small firms sell on ONDC

The MSME ministry's Trade Enablement and Access to Market scheme is onboarding micro and small enterprises onto the Open Network for Digital Commerce. Run by NSIC under the World Bank backed RAMP programme, it offers help with cataloguing, packaging, logistics, digital payments and order fulfilment. SMEStreet cites a Jammu and Kashmir walnut producer group that processed more than 100 orders within two months of joining, and a Manipur food enterprise that widened its reach beyond the North East. The aim is market access for firms in remote regions.

Goa pitches work from anywhere as it opens its first Shackathon
